This Section is about writing online, whether it be on your website, on an article directory, and covers strategies you can use to help learn how to and improve your writing online. Do note that online writing is somewhat different than writing for printed books, periodicals, etc, yet many of the basic concepts from these older forms of media still apply.
This and the other articles on this site that discuss online writing cater to those who have websites or are using any of the free online article directories such as EzineArticles, StreetArticles, HubPages, Squidoo, and of course, many others.
The very essence of a blog (shortened from “web log”) is similar to a periodical. You systematically add content to the blog like any magazine or newspaper puts out new issues. A major difference is that your blog is equivalent the run of a periodical, that is, its entire set of issues during the life of its title.
As a magazine or newspaper is its title, your blog is its title you’ve chosen for it.
Many of the concepts used by these print publishing houses are also used by webmasters who delve into e commerce. They do two things:
- Create content in a particular topic and write provide valuable information for its readers throughout its pages.
- Create promotional campaigns within the periodical which match the content. These are usually products and services that the readers find useful and valuable to them and is relevant to the topics discussed.
Writing is not that difficult, but for many, it takes practice if they generally have not been doing it. It’s like anything else. One must learn the basics and practice. My aim with this section of the site is to provide valuable information about writing content online in such a way that it is aesthetic to the targeted audiences and is also search engine-friendly, in that order of importance.
